Con Walsh
Con Walsh (actually Cornelius E. Walsh ; * April 24, 1881 ; † 1942 ) was a Canadian athlete of Irish origin who was active as a hammer thrower around 1910 . The following has been handed down about him:
- Twice participation in the All Ireland Caelic Football Final for Cork
- Winning the bronze medal with a performance of 48.51 m behind the Americans John Flanagan (gold with 51.93 m) and Matt McGrath (silver with 51.18 m) at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London
- Won the AAU championship in 1911 with 54.11 m
Nothing is known with certainty about his further fate. It is believed that he emigrated to the United States and settled in Seattle , where he worked as a police officer.
