Concepcion Picciotto
Concepción Picciotto , also Conchita or Connie , (* approx. 1935 in Vigo , Spain as Concepción Martín ; † January 25, 2016 ) lived since August 1, 1981, in protest against nuclear weapons, opposite the White House in Lafayette Park on the Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC
At the age of 18, she immigrated to the United States , where she worked at the Spanish Consulate in New York City . She fell in love with an Italian businessman and married him. A painful divorce and custody war cost them their home, daughter and job.
Picciotto made an appearance in the Michael Moore film Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004 .
On January 25, 2016, Picciotto died in a homeless shelter.
