Condon is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the front of the moon , on the northeastern edge of the Sinus Successus , south of the crater Apollonius . Lava from the Sinus Successus penetrated into the interior through two openings in the wall in the south and north-west, which is now almost flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1976 after the American physicist Edward Condon .
