The Cone Rock (from English cone , cone, cone, cone ' ) is a rocky island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 2.5 km northeast of Williams Point off the coast of Livingston Island .
In the course of surveying work in 1935, participants in the British Discovery Investigations gave the rock the descriptive name Conical Rock , which, however, is shown in its abbreviated name on a map from 1948 resulting from the surveys.
