Connie Brown (entrepreneur)

Constance "Connie" Brown (born August 6, 1907 , † January 21, 2010 in Pembroke , Wales ) was the oldest small business owner in the United Kingdom in her time .

In 1928, she and her husband Sidney, who died in 1964, opened a fish-and-chip shop in Pembroke, Welsh . For over 80 years she worked here six days a week, with the help of her children in later years. In onomatopoeic style based on The Godfather ("The Godfather ") Brown became known as The Codmother ("The Cod Mother").

In 2006 she was made a member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her social services .

On January 20, 2010, Connie Brown was hospitalized for the first time in her life, where she passed away the following day.
