Conrad Cellarius (* around 1574 in Hilzingen ; † December 17, 1636 in Tübingen ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Life

Conrad Cellarius enrolled at the University of Tübingen in 1592 , where he received his baccalaureate in 1593 . art. and in 1597 the Mag. art. and completed a degree in theology. In 1599 he became a preceptor in Bebenhausen , from 1603 to 1607 he was a deacon in Leonberg , from 1607 to 1610 pastor in Liebenzell and from 1610 to 1615 pastor in Dußlingen and at the same time dean of the dioceses of Tübingen and Bebenhausen. From 1615 to 1617 he was dean in Tuttlingen , from 1617 to 1636 he followed a call as a full professor of physics in Tübingen. In 1630 and 1634 he was rector of the University of Tübingen, in 1635 and 1636 Supremus Deputatus there . From 1617 to 1636 he was also Magister Domus of the Protestant monastery in Tübingen. He was entitled Poeta Laureate . His portrait, painted by Conrad Melberger in 1619 , hangs in the Tübingen professors' gallery .
