The Conspicuous Rock ( English for striking rock ) is a cliff rock in the Antarctic Ross Archipelago . It is located in the South Bay of Ross Island .
Participants in the British Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott named him after his appearance
