The South Bay ( English for South Bay ) is a small bay on the west side of the Antarctic Ross Island . It is located on the south side of Cape Evans .
The bay received its descriptive name from participants in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
