Constantin Vanotti

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Constantin Vanotti (* 1793 ; † 1879 ) was a German merchant of Italian descent in Überlingen on Lake Constance. He was the keeper of the hospital funds and upper guild master of Überlinger Rebleute .

His grandfather, Anton (Bernardo Antonio) Vanotti (1701–1775), and his great uncles, Josef (Giuseppi) Vanotti (1704–1765) and Blasius (Biaggio) Joachim Vanotti (1711–1794), who came from Musso on Lake Como , came to Überlingen in 1730 to take over a trading company. In September 1731 Anton and Josef were "accepted and accepted as citizens" by the city council.

The commercial vocational school in Überlingen is called Constantin-Vanotti-Schule in his honor , and a street in Überlingen, Konstantin-Vanotti-Straße, is named after him. The so-called “Vanottihaus” in today's Christophstraße had nothing to do with the “trading community” of the Vanotti family; it was only bought by Constantin Vanotti in 1840.
