Constanze Grobe

Elisabeth Constanze Grobe , also Konstanze Grobe or Constanze Gröbe , ( December 13, 1877 in Weimar - after 1923) was a German actress .

Life

Grobe, the daughter of a furniture manufacturer, took dramatic lessons from Clara Lehfeld . She made her debut as "Helene" in Glück im Winkel in Halle. In 1898 she came to Dessau and in 1900 at the court theater in Darmstadt (debut role "Elisabeth" in Don Carlos ). In 1901 she moved to Königsberg. Her life after 1902 is unclear, in 1921 and 1924 she appeared in two silent films.

According to Eisenberg, she was "an intelligent, capable actress who successfully masters her subject". He calls her portrayal of the "Maid of Orleans", "Clärchen", "Julia", "Gretchen" and "Judith" "sympathetic achievements".
