The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), formerly the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), is a trade association for electronic consumer goods in the USA . The CEA organizes the Consumer Electronics Show every year .

The association came into being at the end of 1999 when the Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association (CEMA) was renamed and founded as a separate organization. CEMA, which in the mid-1990s comprised around 400 companies with around 700 manufacturing facilities in the United States, was a sector of the Electronic Industries Association (EIA).
