The Las Vegas Sun is one of the two major daily newspapers in Las Vegas , Nevada . It belongs to the Greenspun family and is part of the Greenspun Media Group .
The newspaper first appeared in 1950. From 1990 to 2005 there was a weekday and a weekend edition on Saturday. It now appears as a supplement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal , but continues to operate its website independently. Brian Greenspun is the editor and president . He is considered a supporter of the Democratic Party and has close contacts with Bill Clinton .
