Coolah is a town in the north of the Australian state of New South Wales . It is located in the Warrumbungle Shire administrative district .

In the northeast of the village is the Coolah Tops National Park . The area is characterized by agriculture and livestock farming.

The first settlers arrived in the area around 1840. A post office was opened there in 1849. At the last census in 2016, the place had a population of 795.
