Coop Naturaline is a fashion label from the Swiss retail company Coop (Switzerland) .

history

Coop Switzerland has had environmentally and socially friendly clothes in its range since 1993 . In 1995 the Naturaline range made from 100% organic cotton was introduced, and two years later the bioRe foundation was set up in cooperation with Remei AG, which was founded by Patrick Hohmann . The foundation pursues the goal of helping people to help themselves and invests in improving the living conditions of farming families in India and Tanzania . This includes the promotion of the cultivation of organic cotton as well as social projects and should ensure the families involved a long-term secure existence in an intact environment .

range

The product line comprises around 500 items, including fashion collections for women, men and children, home textiles and cosmetics - cotton wool products from fair trade production. Naturaline is offered in the so-called Coop supermarkets and Coop City department stores.

sustainability

The CO 2 neutral -produced cotton from organic farming is in India and Tanzania prepared with local social projects, such as biogas plants , each a training center for farmers in India and Tanzania as well as 17 village schools were realized for 750 schoolchildren.

Swiss actress Melanie Winiger has been working as a brand ambassador for Naturaline since 2008 and traveled to India in this role in mid-2011 .

The products are to be produced by companies that comply with the international SA8000 standard. According to its own statements, Coop was the first Swiss company to sign a letter of intent with Greenpeace with the aim of reducing the use of hazardous chemicals in textile production by 2020.

Awards

As part of the Sustainia project at the Rio 2012 World Summit, the product line was recognized as one of a hundred exemplary and visionary projects around the world in the field of organic and fair trade textiles. Nationally, Coop Naturaline received the Swiss Ethics Award in 2006.
