Emil "Copé" Wendling (born August 1, 1890 in Cannstatt ; † May 26, 1966 in Freudenstadt ) was a German football player .

Copé Wendling joined the Cannstatt Crown Club in 1903. As the captain of the first soccer team of the Kronen Club, Wendling pushed for a merger between Cannstatt and FV Stuttgart in 1893 as early as the late summer of 1911. Before the merger was completed, he played for the Stuttgart FV 93 in a friendly at Inter Milan in December 1911 . Copé Wendling was then banned for a short time for playing game. After the merger of his crown club with FV Stuttgart on April 2, 1912, he was a member of the newly merged VfB Stuttgart from the start. Wendling played the first competitive games with VfB in the promotion round to the first-class Südkreisliga, for which the Stuttgart FV had previously qualified. On September 1, 1912, Copé Wendling scored the only goal of the game in the decisive game of the promotion round against FC Mühlburg shortly before the end of the game and thus ensured that VfB Stuttgart was first class in its first season after the merger. Wendling was still active for VfB after the end of the First World War, before he moved to Brussels because of his work as a manufacturer in the textile industry. There Wendling played for FC Royal Brussels . After his active career, he supported VfB Stuttgart as a passive member.
