Copa Competencia
The Copa Competencia was a Uruguayan soccer club competition.
It was held by the Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol (AUF) from 1900 to 1923. The winner acquired the right to start at the Copa Competencia Chevallier-Boutell (also known as the Copa Competencia Rioplatense or Cup Tie Competition ) and played there against the winner of the Argentine counterpart to the Uruguayan Copa Competencia, the Copa de Competencia Jockey Club . Record winner is Nacional with eight titles, followed by Peñarol predecessor club CURCC , which won the tournament seven times. The Montevideo Wanderers ruled the Copa five times in their favor. Albion and Peñarol each won once . After the Copa Competencia Chevallier-Boutell ceased to take place in 1920, the tournament was held independently in 1921 and 1923. The winner was Nacional on these two occasions .
