Lenny Nangis (born March 24, 1994 in Basse-Terre , Guadeloupe ) is a French football player .

Club career

Nangis was born on the island of Guadeloupe, where he started playing football at the age of six. In 2009 he moved to the professional club SM Caen on the French mainland.

At the age of only 16 he was called to the second team and played in the fourth division from then on. In 2011, at the age of 17, he signed a three-year professional contract for Caen, but was still mainly used in the second team. He made his first division debut on September 17, 2011, when he came on for Frédéric Bulot in a 1-1 draw against AJ Auxerre in the 59th minute . In total, he played eleven first division games before he had to accept relegation at the end of the season. Even after that, he remained in the role of a substitute player.

In 2014 they returned to the top French league. In the following time he was called up much more regularly than in the previous years, established himself in the first team and reached relegation with his team at the end of the first year. On August 31, 2015, he left his first professional station and moved to first division rivals OSC Lille for an estimated fee of one million euros . In the offensive of the northern French, however, he initially did not take a regular place. For the duration of the 2016/17 season he was loaned to SC Bastia and was relegated to the second division with them.

National team

Nangis made his debut on September 29, 2009 at the age of 15 in a 6-0 win against Wales for the French U-16 national team. Although he remained goalless, he scored three goals in his second appearance on October 1 in a 5-1 win against Wales. He then wore the U-17 jersey with which he took part in the 2011 U-17 World Cup. This was followed by admission to the U-18 and then to the U-19, where he was called up for the latter at the U-19 European Championship 2013 . He reached the final with the team and was on the field when a possible win of the trophy was missed by a 0-1 win against Serbia. Shortly thereafter, he moved up to the U-20s and, after almost a year without being considered in the national dress, finally made it into the U-21s, which is the highest age group, in March 2015.
