The VII. Coppa della Sila took place on October 5, 1930 on a circuit around the Calabrian city of Cosenza .

The race

The racing event, which was organized for the first time in 1924, took its name from the Sila mountain range in the Calabrian province of Cosenza . The circuit was 144 km long and led from Consenza over mountain roads and the places on the plateau back to the starting point. The route had to be driven through completely three times. The idea for races came from the local surgeon Giuseppe Catalani.

In 1930 15 vehicles were at the start. Luigi Arcangeli , who drove an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS registered by Scuderia Ferrari , crossed the finish line as the winner . He needed 6: 49: 46.400 hours for the distance of 433.200 km. His lead over the runner-up Guido d'Ippolito was seven minutes.
