The Centro Mohammed VI para el Diálogo de las Civilizaciones ( La Mezquita ) is a cultural center in the Villa Dominante district of the city of Coquimbo , Chile . The minaret of his mosque is a copy of the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech , Morocco .

Construction began in 2004 and the first phase of construction was opened on March 14, 2007.

Building complex

The construction project, financed by the city of Coquimbo and the Kingdom of Morocco , covers 720 m² and a minaret 40 meters high. It sees itself as a cultural center that houses a prayer hall , a library and a museum.
