Cor Bijster
Cornelis "Cor" Bijster (born December 13, 1922 in Haarlem , † October 24, 1998 in Amsterdam ) was a Dutch cyclist .
Cor Bijster was active as a racing cyclist from the late 1930s to 1961, initially as an amateur until 1949 . In 1942 he became the Dutch sprint champion . At the UCI track world championships in Zurich in 1946 , he finished third in the amateur sprint, and the following year he was runner- up in Copenhagen . He has taken podium finishes in national championships many times. Outstanding was his victory in 1947 at the Copenhagen Grand Prix, in which he won the amateur race. He was equally successful in the British Champion of Champions race in London in 1947 .
At the end of the 1970s, Blijster was the Dutch national coach for the women's cycling team.
