Cora Tracey

Cora Tracey (* 1878 in London , Ontario ; † after 1960 ibid.) Was a Canadian singer (alto).

Live and act

Tracey began her musical career in the USA. She worked in New York, where she met the singer Craig Campbell , with whom she appeared as a member of the American Society of Singers . Both were also members of the Gilbert and Sullivan Park Theater Company and remained lifelong friends.

In 1918 Tracey performed at the Théâtre Imperiale in Montreal. In the same year she also worked with Honoré Vaillancourt , who had made his debut at Monument National the previous year . She later married and retired from the stage. Tracey has some recordings on the New York label Pathé Frères , including Love's Old Sweet Song by James Lynam Molloy and O Promise Me from Reginald De Koven's opera Robin Hood .
