The Cordall Stacks are two distinctive surf piers ( English stacks ) off the northwest coast of Bird Island . They are 500 m northwest of Jordan Cove , with the easternmost of the two connected to the island by a low isthmus .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1961 after Peter Ainsworth Cordall (* 1930), participant in the British South Georgia Biological Expedition (1958-1959), who had carried out geodetic surveys of Bird Island.
