The Jordan Cove is a small cove on the south coast of Bird Iceland before the west end of South Georgia .
The South Georgia Survey surveyed the bay between 1951 and 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1958 after the American naturalist David Starr Jordan (1851-1931), who after his time as authorized representative for the investigation of fur seal populations in the northern Pacific (1896-1897) for the protection of these animals , to whose distribution area the bay described here also belongs.
