Cordula Meier

Cordula Meier (born August 19, 1960 in Essen ) is a German art and design scholar. She teaches as a professor for art and design science at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

Life

Cordula Meier studied art, German literature and education at the University of GHS Essen. In 1991 she did her doctorate there under Hermann Sturm and Hans Brög in the field of art history. From 1991 to 1997 she was a lecturer a. a. at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences , Krefeld and visiting professor in art history at the Offenbach am Main University of Design . Meier completed his habilitation in 1997 in the field of art history, reviewers were Hermann Sturm and Beat Wyss . From 1997 to 2003 she was a professor at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd , from 2003 to 2008 at the University of Essen . Since 2008 she has been Professor of Art and Design Studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts, where she heads the Institute for Art and Design Studies.
