Cornel Orza (born January 9, 1916 in the United States , † unknown) was a Romanian football player . He played a total of 100 games in the Divizia A . In 1939 and 1940 he won the Romanian championship with Venus Bucharest .

Career

Orza's career began in 1933 when he joined the first team squad from the youth of Mureșul Târgu Mureș . There he came to his first appearances in the Divizia A . In the summer of 1934 he moved to Universitatea Cluj . For "U Cluj" he was already used in the cup final of the previous year , as this had only been played in September 1934. After he had belonged to the team in the first two seasons, Orza only came on one mission in the 1936/37 season . He left the club for league rivals CAO Oradea . There he found his old strength and was able to score nine goals in 18 games. Then the top club Venus Bucharest signed him in the summer of 1938. With Venus he won the championships in 1939 and 1940, winning his first two titles. The following two seasons he did not get a chance. It was only considered again in the unofficial tournaments during the Second World War . Orza ended his career in 1944.

National team

Orza played seven games for the Romanian national team . He made his debut on September 25, 1938 in a friendly against Germany . Then he was on the starting grid five more times. He had his last assignment on July 14, 1940 in a 3: 9 defeat against the Germans.
