Cornelia (wife of Calvisius)
Cornelia († 39 ) was a Roman noblewoman from the Cornelier family .
Life
Cornelia married the consul of AD 26, Gaius Calvisius Sabinus , and accompanied her husband when he became governor of Pannonia . She put on soldiers' clothes and inspected the Roman military camps. She is said to have had a relationship with the military tribune Titus Vinius . When she returned home to Rome, she had to answer for this in 39 AD; however, she and her husband committed suicide.
