Corneliu Constantinescu

Corneliu Constantinescu (* 1929 in Buzău ) is a Romanian mathematician who deals with analysis .

Constantinescu studied mathematics at the University of Bucharest with his doctorate in 1958 under Simion Stoilow (On the classification of Riemann surfaces). After that he was at the Mathematical Institute of the Romanian Academy of Sciences. From 1972 he was initially a visiting scientist at the ETH Zurich and visiting professor at the EPFL Lausanne . From 1973 to 1976 he was visiting professor at the ETH Zurich, from 1976 to 1978 professor at the Technical University of Hanover and from 1978 to the emeritus professor at the ETH Zurich.

He deals with Riemann surfaces , axiomatic potential theory , measure spaces and C * algebras .
