Cornelius Flir

Cornelius Flir (born January 3, 1867 in Golling an der Salzach , † November 2, 1923 in Braunau am Inn ) was an Austrian teacher and state politician.

Life

The son of a notary public attended elementary and community school and the teacher training college in Linz , taught at various schools and from 1918 was a community school teacher in Braunau. Even before the World War he was elected as a civil representative in the town council of Schwertberg. After the end of the war, Flir built up the social democratic party organization in the Braunau am Inn district . As mayor of Braunau am Inn he was quite popular. The conversion of the once national teacher to the Social Democrats caused a sensation at the time. He became a member of the provisional state assembly for the Social Democratic Party in 1918/1919 and remained a member of the state parliament until his death.
