Cornovii (Caithness)
The Cornovii (also Cornavii ) were a Celtic tribe in northern Scotland in what is now the county of Caithness . They are only known through a mention in Claudius Ptolemy's Geographia . From this description it is certain that they lived in the northern tip of Scotland , although Ptolemy does not indicate a capital or core area. The Cornovii were adjacent to the Caereni , Smertae and Lugi .
