The Cornwall Peaks are two distinctive and up to 960 m high mountains on South Georgia . They rise 4 km southwest of Fortuna Bay on the western flank of the König Glacier .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations , who surveyed Fortuna Bay in 1929, named a mountain in the area Cornwall Peak . The South Georgia Survey failed to identify it during its survey campaign between 1951 and 1952. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee decided in 1954 to transfer the name to the mountains described here and further south. The further naming background has not been passed down.
