Corpus Delicti was a gothic rock band from Nice that was active from the early to mid-1990s.

Corpus Delicti was founded in 1991 and released two demos in the same year . A year later the debut Twilight appeared in France, about six months later with different artwork in Germany. The second album Sylphes was released in 1994, this time only in Germany and France. Obsessions , the third album, was eventually marketed worldwide. The compilations Sarabands and The Best of were made for the US market .

In 1998 the group changed its name to Corpus and released Syn: Drom, an industrial rock album on the Season of Mist label . Shortly afterwards the band broke up. Sébastien Pietrapiana founded a project called Kuta , while Jérôme Schmitt started several bands such as (e.g. NKVD) and now makes his living with a mastering studio. Christophe Baudrion works in the industrial project Kom-Intern . Together with Frank A, guitarist on the album Twilight , he also founded the band Press Gang Metropol .

In 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011, three retrospective albums were released under the names From Dawn to Twilight , A New Saraband of Sylphes , Highlights and Last Obsessions . In addition to the regular works Twilight , Sylphes and Obsessions , these also include tracks from Maxi Noxious (The Demon's Game) as well as studio outtakes, rare demo and live titles and cover versions.
