Correo del Orinoco (Orinoco-Post) is a daily newspaper founded in 2009 by the Venezuelan government under Hugo Chávez . The name is said to remind of the weekly Correo del Orinoco published by Simón Bolívar 1818-1822 .
According to the New York Times , the newspaper is comparable to the Cuban party newspaper Granma .
An English-language edition was also launched in 2010, with Eva Golinger as its editor-in-chief .
