Cosmopepla lintneriana is a Wanzenart from the family of stink bugs (Pentatomidae). In English, the species is also known as Twice-stabbed Stink Bug , Two-spotted Stink Bug and Wee Harlequin Bug .
features
The black little bugs reach a body length of 4 to 7 millimeters. They have an oval shape. A red or yellow stripe runs across the pronotum and a short stripe in the middle lengthways. At the edges of the scutellum, not far from its lower end, there is a red spot. Furthermore, a red hem runs along the front edge of the pronotum and along the abdomen.
distribution
The species occurs in the Nearctic . In Canada it is represented across the continent. In the United States, the distribution area extends to Georgia and New Mexico. It is also found in Mexico.
Way of life
Cosmopepla lintneriana is a polyphagous species of bug. The species is considered a minor pest in the United States . The species usually develops one generation per year and hibernates as an imago.
