The CosmosDirekt insurance group is an insurance group based in Saarbrücken , consisting of several legally independent companies , which manages sales and customer care exclusively directly , i.e. without field staff. CosmosDirekt is part of the Generali Deutschland financial group and is Germany's largest direct insurance company and Germany's largest risk life insurer .
The portfolio also includes products in the areas of financing as well as investment and banking .
history
The company was founded in 1950 as "United Saarländische Volkshilfe und Terra Volks- und Lebensversicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft". In 1960 the name was changed to "Cosmos Lebensversicherungs AG". In 1981 the company went into pure direct sales.
