Cossutius

Cossutius was the gentile name of the gens Cossutia , a family of the Roman Empire to which various artists belonged in addition to some mint masters . The gens has been around since the 1st century BC. Chr. Attested and came from the knighthood .

Important representatives were:

• Marcus Cossutius , von Verres excellent lawyer
• Cossutius (architect) , architect under Antiochus IV , builder of the Olympus in Athens
• Marcus Kossutios Kerdon , Greek sculptor, freedman of Cossutius.
• Markos Kossitios from Aphrodisias, Greek sculptor, possibly identical to M. Kossutios Kerdon
• Marcus Cossutius Menelaos , Greek sculptor, supposedly a pupil of Stephanos
• Cossutia , Caesar's temporary fiancée
