Cotherstone Castle

Cotherstone Castle is an abandoned castle in the village of Cotherstone on the banks of the Tees , about 3 miles northeast of Barnard Castle in County Durham, England .

The moth was erected around 1090. In 1200 the wooden structure was replaced by a stone building. Today there is still an earth mound and traces of a possible fish pond.
