Counter service

The counter service (German about: counter service) is a form of sales in system catering .

With the counter service, meals are ordered at a central counter and served and paid for there. So it is not self-service. One advantage of the counter service over self-service is its low space requirement. This is countered by the fact that only a narrow range is possible due to the small sales area . In addition, the system is often inflexible because the technical devices are only tailored to this range.

Well-known examples of this type of sales are the Burger King and McDonald’s systems .
