history

Crabzilla at the Sea Life Center in Scheveningen

The animal was caught in the Pacific and exported to the UK from Japan. It got its name from the fictional monster Godzilla . From mid-February to late March 2010, Crabzilla was seen at the National Sea Life Birmingham . At the beginning of August 2010 the animal was brought to the Sea Life Center in Scheveningen , the Netherlands , where it can now be seen. From March 8, 2011, it will be temporarily on view for at least three months in Sea Life near Paris, as construction work is taking place in Scheveningen.

Media coverage

In the media coverage of the tabloid press, facts about Crabzilla are often presented in a highly distorted manner. The title of the animal as a “ monster ” and the distorted representation of the actual proportions caused by taking photos from a frog's perspective are to be classified as imprecise from a scientific point of view.
