Player career
The beginnings
Craig Fagan comes from the youth of Birmingham City , however, he was also active in the youth of West Bromwich Albion for several months after there were organizational problems in City's youth department. From 2002 to 2004 he was under contract with the first team in Birmingham, but did not make the breakthrough in his hometown as he had hoped and only played a league game. In 2003 he was loaned to Bristol City before he stormed on loan at Colchester United in 2003/04 . He moved there on a free transfer after the end of the season.
breakthrough
In February 2005 he moved to Hull City . There he made his breakthrough in professional football. After 15 goals in 80 games, Fagan left Hull in January 2007 to play for the ambitious second division club Derby County . With Derby he immediately achieved promotion to the Premier League . Although he was almost always a regular for the next year and a half, he had to leave the club after a coach change in the relegation battle.
Thus followed Fagan's return to Hull City , where he made a second debut in March 2008 and reached promotion to the Premier League with the club at the end of the season.
On September 13, 2008, Fagan suffered a broken shin after a brutal foul by Newcastle's Danny Guthrie and returned to the game three months later. After three years at Hull, his contract was not renewed in the summer of 2011. Bradford City signed him on September 15, 2011 .
