Craig Thomas Walsh (born April 11, 1971 in Somerville , New Jersey ) is an American composer and music teacher.

Walsh studied music theory and composition at Mannes College of Music and Brandeis University . He has taught at Brandeis University, the University of North Carolina, and Bridgewater State University, and then became an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona , majoring in composition, music theory, electroacoustic music, and orchestration.

In addition to electroacoustic works, he has composed works for classical musical instruments by ensembles such as the New Music Ensemble , the Empyrean Ensemble , the Manhattan String Quartet , the Arizona Contemporary Ensemble , the Oberlin Sinfonietta , the Wellesley Composer's Conference Chamber Orchestra , the Friends and Enemies of New Music , Mallarme Chamber Players and Middle Voices and soloists such as Rhonda Rider , Daniel Stepner , Stephen Gosling , Madeleine Shapiro , Stella Markou , Mark Rush , Norm Weinberg , Todd Rewoldt , F. Gerard Errante and Philipp Staudlin . He has received a Guggenheim Fellowship and awards from the National Association of Composers in the United States , the Music Teachers National Association, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers .
