Scheme of the passage Tombs

The Passage Tomb of Craigs Lower is located on the west side of Mullan Road southeast of Finvoy in the townland of Craigs ( Irish Na Creaga ) in County Antrim in Northern Ireland . The megalithic complex is in a field a few meters from the road.

The aisle-free Passage Tomb of Craigs consists of the 1.7 m high chamber and the traces of a worn round hill. There are notches in the seven bearing stones and in the capstone so that the stones interlock. The capstone was struck by lightning in the 1970s and repaired in the 1890s. The northern bearing stones are curved, giving them the appearance of fingers holding the capstone. Craig's Lower was excavated in the mid-19th century.

Nearby is the Broad Stone .

It is classified as a "passage-less" Passage Tomb because it has no aisle. In this respect it is similar to the Moneydig facilities in County Londonderry and the Craigs and Lemnagh Beg, all in County Antrim . The Ballylumford Dolmen could be another such facility that has also been recorded on the continent.
