Crailing House

Crailing House is a mansion near the Scottish town of Crailing in the Scottish Borders Council Area . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

The mansion is isolated a few hundred meters south of Crailing. Oxnam Water runs directly to the west and joins the Teviot a short distance downstream . Crailing House was built in 1803 to a design by local architect William Elliot . In 1952 it was revised. It is one of the most important buildings of Regency architecture in the Scottish Borders. The Scottish comedian Rory Bremner acquired Crailing House in 2009 and initiated necessary restoration work.

In addition to the gardens, the property also includes several outbuildings, some of which are independently listed. These include the stables and the West Lodge , each of which is classified as a category B monument.
