The Crane Company ( Crane Co. for short ) is an American industrial goods company. The company was founded in Chicago in 1855 as the RT Crane Brass & Bell Foundry. The company's portfolio includes valves for liquid handling, vending machines , products made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) and systems for aviation.
Crane used to be a major bathroom fixture manufacturer. This line of business was divested in the 1980s . In the 1960s, pumps found the company during the space programs Gemini and Apollo of NASA application. Crane also supplied braking systems for the space shuttles .
