The Crawfish Lake is a small lake, about 24 km northeast of Omak in Okanogan County in the State of Washington . The lake has an area of 32.37 hectares and is at an altitude of 1,364 meters. The northeast portion of the lake borders the Okanogan National Forest and the southern half is part of the Colville Indian Reservation . Most of the lakeshore properties are privately owned; there is a US Forest Service campground to the northeast . Motorboat traffic on the lake has been prohibited since 1996. The main uses on the lake are fishing, rowing, canoeing and kayaking, and swimming. There were once many crabs in the lake, but the state fought them with poison to preserve the natural reed belt.
