The Creo Germany GmbH is in Homburg -based distribution system operators. With its approx. 1,650 km long high-pressure gas network and approx. 450 km long high and medium-voltage network, the company supplies more than 2 million people in 340 cities and communities in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate. Your business partners include power plant operators, industrial companies, commercial enterprises and municipal utilities.

Predecessor company

Creos Deutschland GmbH is the successor to Saar Ferngas Transport GmbH. Saar Ferngas Transport GmbH emerged from Saar Ferngas AG. The predecessor company was founded in 1929 as Ferngasgesellschaft Saar.

In the course of the so-called unbundling , the corporate activities of Saar Ferngas AG had to be separated in 2004 according to the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and transferred to independent companies. Saar Ferngas AG (for the market role of supplier ) and Saar Ferngas Transport GmbH (for the market role of distribution network operator ) were established on the market. Saar Ferngas AG remained the owner of the outsourced Saar Ferngas Transport GmbH.

In the years 2005 to 2010, the parent company Saar Ferngas AG experienced numerous changes of ownership. Finally, there was a merger with the two Luxembourg energy supply companies Cegedel SA and Soteg SA, which led to the formation of the joint Encevo Group.

With the reform of the EnGW, there was an additional requirement that the distribution network operator had to use a different company name, which the end consumer cannot directly identify as the so-called associated energy supplier. A company name containing "Saar Ferngas" or "Enovos" was no longer permitted. From this the Saar Ferngas Transport GmbH was renamed into today's Creos Deutschland GmbH .
