Kévin Rolland (born August 10, 1989 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice ) is a French freestyle skier . He starts in the halfpipe discipline .

Career

Rolland had his World Cup debut in Les Contamines in January 2006 , which he finished in tenth place. He won the gold medal at the 2007 Junior World Championships in Airolo . In January 2008 he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in Les Contamines. In the 2008-09 season he won at Park City and La Plagne . In Les Contamines he took third place and finished the season in sixth place in the overall World Cup and first place in the Halfpipe World Cup. At the 2009 Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Inawashiro , he became world champion on the halfpipe. In March 2009 he finished second at the Nippon Open in Inawashiro . In January 2010 he won the Winter Dew Tour on Mount Snow . At the Winter X Games 2010 in Aspen , he won gold on the superpipe and bronze in the superpipe high air competition. In March 2010 he also won gold on the superpipe at the Winter X Games Europe in Tignes .

At the beginning of the 2010/11 season, Rolland won the King of Style in Stockholm . This is followed by third place on the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge and first places in Killington and Snowbasin . At the Winter X Games 2011 and the Winter X Games Europe 2011 , he defended his titles from the previous year. In February 2011 he won silver at the Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Park City . At the end of the season he won his third World Cup in La Plagne . The following season he took second place on the Winter Dew Tour in Snowbasin and first place in Breckenridge . In the 2012/13 season he came third in the World Cup in Park City . In March 2013, he finished seventh at the Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Oslo . In the same month he won the bronze medal at the Winter X Games Europe 2013 in Tignes . At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he came second in the World Cup in Copper Mountain . This was followed by third place in Breckenridge in January 2014 . In the same month he won the US Grand Prix in Park City and won the silver medal at the Winter X Games 2014 . In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he won bronze in the halfpipe competition. In March 2014 he won the SFR Tour in Tignes.

In the 2014/15 season Rolland came third at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge and second at the US Grand Prix and FIS World Cup in Park City . As in the previous year, he won the silver medal at the Winter X Games 2015 in Aspen . He finished the season in third place in the Halfpipe World Cup. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he won his fourth World Cup in Cardrona . At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen , he won the gold medal on the superpipe . In February 2016 he finished third at the US Grand Prix and World Cup in Park City and sixth at the X-Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo. In the following month he won the SFR Freestyle Tour and World Cup in Tignes and at the end of the season he finished second in the overall World Cup and first in the Halfpipe World Cup. In the 2016/17 season he won the US Grand Prix and World Cup in Copper Mountain and took third place in the World Cup in Tignes. As in the previous year, he won the Halfpipe World Cup and also achieved 11th place in the overall World Cup. He finished eighth at the Winter X Games 2017 . In March 2017, he won the bronze medal at the Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Sierra Nevada . The following season he finished second at the World Cup in Cardrona and third at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge. The Winter X Games 2018 in Aspen, he finished ninth and at the Winter Olympics in 2018 in Pyeongchang 11th place.

Rolland won the silver medal at the 2019 World Championships in Park City .
