The Via Ferrata Crete Rosse is a 1980 by the Section Pontebba the Italian Alpine Club through the south side of the Trogkofel in Nassfeld area erected ferrata at the Austrian border in Carinthia .

Location and description

The normal route to the entrance leads on the Austrian side via Schlanitzen and the Rudnigalm to the Troghöhe and after the state border via the Carnic high path to the south faces. The trail follows a ramp-like channel up to the summit area and overcomes around 150 meters in altitude. The middle part of the via ferrata is rated B / C , the entry and exit area with B.

With the easier Uiberlacherweg on the east side, there is an opportunity to cross the mountain, and an unsecured normal route on the Italian side leads back to the Carnic High Trail.
