The Crimson Hill (English for Carmine Hill ) is a striking, ice-free and 95 m high hill on Deception Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises on the south side of Pendulum Cove .
The British navigator Henry Foster mapped and named it in 1829 during his Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1828 to 1831. The name is given by a crimson band in the rock of the hill.
