Cristelo Covo is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Valença in the Minho-Lima sub-region . The community had 969 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Cristelo Covo, Arão and Valença were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Valença, Cristelo Covo e Arão .
