Cristian Tudor Popescu
Cristian Tudor Popescu , short CTP , (born October 1, 1956 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian journalist and writer .
Life
Popescu studied at the Bucharest Polytechnic University in the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science and graduated in 1981 as an engineer. He then wrote science fiction stories.
After the Romanian Revolution , he started working for the daily Adevărul in early 1990 . In 1991 he became deputy editor-in-chief and in 1996 editor-in-chief. Due to differences with management, Popescu left Adevărul in 2005 along with other editors and founded the newspaper Gândul , which he stayed with until 2015. In the same year, he and colleagues founded the republica.ro platform.
Popescu has been named Journalist of the Year several times in Romania. From 2003 to 2006 he was President of the Romanian Press Club . He is regularly invited to television, where he gives his analyzes on current topics. Since 2017 he has debated with the chief presenter of the main news of Pro TV Andreea Esca on the program Esca & Escu.
